Many manufacturers still today drill as many jet holes as they feel they need to sell the spa to the uninformed buyer. The more holes they drill into their hot tubs means the more motors and energy-guzzling horsepower is required to operate all the jets. This is dead against the findings of the latest independent research studies on lowering hot tub and spa energy use, construction, and quality. Some customers even are led to believe that more jets and motors mean that the spa is worth more money. This simply is not true. The fact is that common engineering sense would tell us that the more holes are drilled into the shell, the weaker the hot tub wall and structure becomes. More jets does not mean that a hot tub is better, and certainly not one of higher quality.
