Part 2](https://www.rintouls.ca/blog/bid/402448/hot-tub-benefits-experience-it-for-yourself-part-2) Posted by [Yvonne Schnurr](https://www.rintouls.ca/blog/author/yvonne-schnurr) on Wed, Jan 21, 2015 @ 08:24 AM - [Tweet](https://twitter.com/share) Owning and using your hot tub can have a more lasting effect on your health.  Many studies demonstrate the benefits. Here are a few just to name a few ![](http://images.t-nation.com/forum_images/6/8/68c66_ORIG-upper_back.jpg) **BACK PAIN** This controlled clinical trial shows a positive short-term and a more moderate long-term overall effectiveness of spa therapy in chronic lower back pain."   Participants in the study who utilized spa treatments experienced increased back flexibility, reduced pain duration, and lessened use of analgesics and anti-inflammatory drugs than the study group that did not receive spa treatments. - British Journal of Rheumatology, 1994 ![](http://www.livetradingnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/weight-loss-men-and-women.jpg) ** DIABETES** Patients with Type 2 DIABETES MELLITUS were studied using a hot tub 30 minutes a day, 6 days per week.  After only 10 days, patients required reduced doses of INSULIN, lost [weight![](http://cdncache-a.akamaihd.net/items/it/img/arrow-10x10.png)](https://www.rintouls.ca/blog/topic/weight-loss-diabettes#), showed distinct decreases in plasma glucose and glycosylated hemoglobin, and benefited from improved sleep and an increased general sense of well-being. - New England Journal of Medicine (08-16-1999) ![](http://www.healthyhippie.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/Tips-for-Cardiovascular-Health.jpg) **CARDIOVASCULAR HEALTH** Soaking in a spa simulates [exercise![](http://cdncache-a.akamaihd.net/items/it/img/arrow-10x10.png)](https://www.rintouls.ca/blog/topic/weight-loss-diabettes#).  It increases the heart rate, yet it doesn't increase BLOOD PRESSURE.  Study PARTICIPANTS who relaxed in spas had a decrease in BLOOD PRESSURE, while participants who exercised on bicycles experienced an increase in blood pressure.  The regular use of spas and hot tubs gives you some of the same HEALTH BENEFITS of exercise but with less heart stress. - Mayo Clinic:  Mayo Clinic Ok's Spas for Heart Patients ![](http://www.westonmedicalhealth.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/Arthritis-pain.jpg) **ARTHRITIS** "People whose ARTHRITIS symptoms respond well to heat have discovered the many benefits of heat therapy." - ARTHRITIS Foundation: ARTHRITIS - Spas & Warm Water [Exercise![](http://cdncache-a.akamaihd.net/items/it/img/arrow-10x10.png)](https://www.rintouls.ca/blog/topic/weight-loss-diabettes#)  "Regular sessions in your hot tub help keep joints moving. It restores and preserves strength and flexibility, and also protects your joints from further damage. Exercise can also improve a person's coordination, endurance, and the ability to perform daily tasks, and can lead to an enhanced sense of self-esteem and accomplishment." "A hot tub fulfills the need perfectly . . . providing the warmth, massage, and buoyancy that is so necessary to the well-being of arthritis sufferers. The buoyancy of the water supports and lessens stress on the joints and encourages freer movement. Water exercises may even act as a resistance to help BUILD MUSCLE strength." - Arthritis Foundation: Spas, Pools, and Arthritis ![](http://www.acnetreatment.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/Stress-and-Acne.gif)   **Stress Relief** Stress is one of those things that just happens. Nobody is immune. However, too much stress can lead to serious health issues and a shortened or unhappy life. Luckily, the swirling warm waters and relaxing jets massages in a BEACHCOMBER HOT TUB are the perfect therapy for overcoming stress and tension.  ![](http://images.huffingtonpost.com/2013-08-09-Sleep.jpg) ** IMPROVED SLEEP** Some studies suggest that soaking in hot water (such as a hot tub or spa) before retiring to bed can ease the transition into a deeper sleep. - National Sleep Foundation Your body can be eased into a state of a deep and relaxing sleep by a drop in body temperature after going to bed.  Soaking in hot water about 90 minutes before bedtime triggers your internal thermostat to lower your temperature, thus inducing sleep to set in more easily. - Associated Professional Sleep Societies Journal  "Sleep" ![](http://www.hottubpros.ca/images/about_us_1.jpg) **SOCIAL** Hot tub water therapies are highly valued for their relaxing, rejuvenating, and naturally rehabilitative qualities and hot tubs remain a favorite social. The most important thing in the world is your family. Each person is unique. Yet everything these days seems to be pulling the family apart. Life, activities, friends, work, and even technology seems to make finding quality family time nearly impossible. Well, an enjoyable hot tub in your backyard is one thing that everyone in your family will love All it takes is a stroll in your backyard paradise and a soothing soak in the hot tub to feel rejuvenated and ready for whatever life brings. You'll never have to worry again about what to do when friends come over. Your Beachcomber hot tub is a perfect group activity for hot tub parties, get-togethers, and backyard barbeques. ![describe the image](https://www.rintouls.ca/hs-fs/file-223017620-jpg/images/pictures_2007_to_jan_2008_013.jpg?width=245&height=184&name=pictures_2007_to_jan_2008_013.jpg) **Home Design** Nothing enhances the aesthetics and functional design of your backyard quite like a beautiful BEACHCOMBER HOT TUB.
